Artiste and producer remanded for ordering M7 to retire

The Music industry is in a shock after Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court yesterday remanded an artiste and his producer to Luzira for recording a song ordering President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to rest/retire dc .

David Mugema and his producer Jonah Muwanguzi were accused for having recorded a song between 2015 and 2017 in Salama-Makindye Division titled ‘Mzei Wumuula'(Literally meaning ‘Rest Old Man’)

According to prosecution, the ‘Wumuula Mzei’ song attacked and disturbed the peace of President Museveni with no purpose of legitimate communication as reported by Uganda Communications Commission whose Prosecutor wasn’t present for the court hearing.

The two face an alternative of abatement of offensive communication and were charged under section 25 and 21 of the computer Misuse Act of 2011.
